The Muslim University of Morogoro Advances Internationalization Agenda with Global Partnership.

MUSLIM UNIVERSITY OF MOROGORO(MUM)

Johol, Malaysia | 14 May 2026 :The Muslim University of Morogoro (MUM) marked a significant milestone in its internationalization agenda through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Netherlands Marine University College. The formal ceremony, held in Johol, Malaysia, reflects MUM’s deliberate institutional initiative to expand global engagement, strengthen international academic collaboration, and enhance its visibility within the global higher education landscape.

The MoU was signed on behalf of the Netherlands Marine University College by its Chairperson and owner, Dato’ Seri Dr. Captain Rozally, underscoring the strategic importance the institution places on the partnership. Representing MUM, the agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Hamza Mustafa Njozi, Deputy Vice‑Chancellor (Academic). The ceremony was attended by senior officials from MUM, including Prof. Dato’ Mohamed Haj Razali bin Agus and Prof. Salum Haji Hamisi, Director of Postgraduate Studies, highlighting strong leadership commitment and institutional ownership of this international collaboration.

This partnership establishes a broad framework for academic cooperation between the two institutions, with emphasis on collaborative research, student and staff mobility, and the development of joint academic and professional programmes. By combining MUM’s academic strengths with the specialised expertise of the Netherlands Marine University College, the collaboration is expected to generate meaningful outcomes such as joint research initiatives, co‑supervised postgraduate studies, academic exchanges, and shared learning platforms that respond to global and regional priorities.
